Long-distance hiking on the Königsweg on the Hochkönig
The special hiking tour at the peak of emotions
74 kilometers between all three Hochkönig communities. 4,824 challenging meters in altitude with a perfect view and moving vision over the entire region and beyond. The Königsweg on the Hochkönig is one of the most popular long-distance hiking trails in Austria and is truly worthy of a king. Four stages lead through Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach – and as a Bergtraum guest you are right in the middle!
Four stages, a hiking dream
The entire Königsweg on the Hochkönig is best tackled on five consecutive days, including a rest day in between. You should expect a total walking time of 23-31 hours for the tour. A fair reward for the effort? Fantastic views over large parts of the Salzburg region with the imposing Hochkönig massif as an impressive backdrop. Spend the night between the stages in one of the many alpine huts at the intermediate stations of the Königsweg or let the free hiking bus take you straight to the start from your Bergtraum accommodation!
Stage 3 begins in Mühlbach!
Of course, you can also cover individual sections of the Königsweg on a hiking holiday on the Hochkönig in the apart-hotel Bergtraum. We are happy to recommend the third stage, which starts at the tourist office in Mühlbach and leads over 13.9 km (walking time 4-6 hours). You can take the Karbachalmbahn to the mountain station and then walk up to the Schneeberg. The further path leads over undulating terrain to the Wastlhöhe and the Bürglalm, before it goes steeply down through the forest and meadows to Dienten and back to the accommodation with the hiking bus.
Tackle the Königsweg on the Hochkönig from your apartment or suite in the apart-hotel Bergtraum – have you already requested a non-binding offer ?
